About My Practice

I practice traditional astrology, use the tropical zodiac, Whole Sign houses, and modern outer planets. My services include birth chart consultations and forecasts, and astrology-related workshops and events. I practice a number of forecasting techniques and have held astrology consultations since 2022. There are myriad paths to the field of astrology. Traditional astrology is the study of fate and fortune (life and body in the material world). Forecast techniques (sometimes called timing techniques) offer insight into how your chart is unfolding through time.

I’ve felt pulled toward astrology since the 1980’s, but it wasn’t until the 2010’s that I began to pursue training, first through self-study, then alongside numerous teachers and mentors. I’m continually studying with teachers and under mentors to refine my understanding and application of techniques in consultation practice. I am especially grateful to Adam Elenbaas, Chris Brennan, Demetra George, Dr. Benjamin Dykes, Kelly Surtees, Michelle Corbesier, and larry arrington.

In addition to astrology, I study and practice the principles of yoga and lead a variety of classes and workshops in my community. I occassionally write and publish on Medium and am an editor, most notably for The Mountain Astrologer during 2021-2024. I’m on a journey to learn and share healing practices and am a reiki master and under mentorship to become attuned to the akashic records. But most importantly, I’m a mom to three adult kids and a nine-year-old rescue dog.

The tapestry woven by traditional astrology and yoga philosophy grounds and guides me. I’ve discovered that the more I learn, the more complex and (even) contradictory things become — reminding me of what my yoga mentor teaches, "All models are false but some of them are useful." This teaching helps me loosen my grip on finding the "one way" to understand it all and to instead tap into the rich symbolism and mystery that pervades it all.

I am a member of the International Society for Astrological Research (ISAR) and follow its ethical standards and guidelines, which you can read more about here.

Understanding the planetary signatures in your natal chart can shed light upon and bring validation to your life circumstances and experiences. Just like you, your chart is multifaceted. The promise of your natal chart unfolds through time. An astrology reading will identify the themes that are active and point to areas of strength and challenge.

If this is your first astrology consultation, I will orient you to your chart and answer questions you bring forward. You will learn about life themes and topics currently activated through timing.

If you’ve had astrology consultations before or are astro-savvy, we can dive deeper into the unfolding of your chart and discuss topics that are of interest to you, including timing of current themes and topics.

Virgo is my Sun sign, and it falls in the 9th place of pilgrimages, foreign places, worldview, belief systems, and divination.

Everything — every person, animal, event, country, city — has a birth chart. This is the chart for the moment that I launched this website. Choosing an auspicious time to begin something is called electional astrology.

This is a night chart, ruled by Venus in Cancer — the watery, yin, cardinal temple of the Moon and exaltation of Jupiter — in the third house of communication. This is where the Moon rejoices, and Venus is merged with her host in this cadent, sacred metakosmios of the pre-dawn sky.

Mercury rejoices in the first house in the sign of Taurus — the earthy, yin, fixed temple of Venus and the exaltation of the Moon. Mercury, the messenger and a symbol of communication and divination, the god who travels in and out of the underworld, is received by host Venus, bringing forth wisdom as morning star, making an auspiscous announcement before the Gemini Sun emerges over the eastern horizon.
