Aquarius is the sign of the Water Bearer. It is the yang, fixed, air temple of Saturn. The Sun struggles to bring about its most dynamic qualities to Aquarius, because the light of life is in a sign of peak winter and opposite its domicile Leo — the peak of summer. Planets in detriment are in a state of disintegration and disunity. In winter, the Sun is restricted from producing warming heat and its light is low and piercing. It remains overshadowed by darkness until the spring equinox, when it becomes exalted in Aries and daylight overcomes.

Aquarius brings curiosity, concentration, and slowness. For people, it can be cool-headedness and detachment. Being ruled by Saturn, this is a sign that indicates taking on responsibilities and burdens. And because of Saturn’s distance from the Sun, Aquarius can be seen as an outsider, overseer, philosopher.
